Crazy Like Me (2024)

SITUATION & TASK

Developed in an intense 25-hour Hackathon. The narrative follows a protagonist waking up in a desolate, corpse-ridden corporate office with amnesia, guided only by a schizophrenic voice in his head. The technical and design challenge was to construct a highly atmospheric, tightly scoped environment packed with functional puzzles and narrative triggers under extreme time constraints.

ROLE & SYSTEM

Lead Environment & Level Designer. Personally responsible for the modular layout design of the abandoned office building, and spatial prop placement to maximize suspense.

Atmospheric Office Level Layout

Atmospheric & Modular Level Design

Designed a claustrophobic layout that forces players into tense exploration. Applied cinematic post-processing profiles to establish a dark, unsettling aesthetic that reinforces the narrative context.

Functional Safe Puzzle Mechanics

Systemic Puzzle & Clue Design

Co-engineered a seamless mechanical puzzle interface within the level layout. Designed and integrated an interactive jigsaw puzzle flow where players manipulate scattered environmental items to piece together critical structural clues. Synced the gameplay logic with directional audio triggers and voice-over scripts to deliver eerie, immersive feedback upon puzzle completion.
